Visualization Notes:

The figures provided here apply to the majority of Arizona prison inmates who are housed in standard state prisons. Others of the state's 40,000+ prisoners are housed in other types of venues, including privately run prisons and county jails; these inmates' daily and annual costs differ slightly. In addition, even the costs of locking up prisoners in standard state-run prisons vary slightly depending on the level of security provided in a particular prison or cellblock.
