Description:
These data come from the Internal Revenue Service, Exempt Business Master File which lists all registered nonprofits in Arizona from 1995 to March of 2009 by county and by type. These data also highlight how many registered nonprofits file a Form 990 and the amount of revenue and assets reported on those forms.

There are 21,131 nonprofits in Arizona that are registered with the IRS. However, just over half (11,470) of those nonprofits file a Form 990. The 990 Forms filed report revenue of $22,973,870,123 and assets of $38,632,789,371.
