TerraNova

Description: TerraNova is a national norm-referenced assessment of three content areas: reading/language arts, and mathematics. In Arizona, the full TerraNova test is given to students in grades 2 and 9. A similar pool of questions taken from the TerraNova is added to the AIMS DPA (Dual Purpose Assessment) in grades 3-8. Prior to the 2004-2005 school year, Arizona’s norm-referenced testing program used the SAT9 test. All eligible students in grades 3-8 are tested in writing, reading, and mathematics, with students in grades 4, 8 and 10 also tested on AIMS Science.
