Basic Assistance

The Arizona Department of Economic Security is a state agency that provides a number of services for low-income individuals and families. The Cash Assistance program provides temporary cash benefits and supportive services, helping families meet their basic needs for well-being and safety and serving as their bridge back to self-sufficiency. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (previously food stamps) ensures that children in low-income families receive the nutrition necessary for healthy development. The Jobs Program engages participants in a variety of work-related activities to improve their employability skills and offers supportive services to remove barriers to employment.
