Average June Low Temperatures

Description:

The average low temperature for June has risen by about ten degrees during the last sixty years. This is an indication of the urban heat island phenomenon of higher nighttime temperatures in the urban core compared to the surrounding rural countryside. Temperatures were recorded at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport climate monitoring station.

The increase in minimum daily temperatures reduces human comfort levels, increases energy use, and jeopardizes tourism and investment opportunities for the region if people choose to locate elsewhere.
